Masjid Project In Bangladesh
A mosque is central to a Muslim community. It is a place of contemplation and worship, as well as education for the local community and providing other pastoral services. The vital role of a mosque is to propagate Islam and nurture the moral and spiritual development of its members. Constructing a mosque is not only rewarding, but it also provides a community with a house of Allah, and your continuous charity will benefit generations to come, by the will of Allah. Through your generous donations, G&Y have built over 100 mosques in Bangladesh and 5 in East Africa (Tanzania) and repaired many others. Over 160,100 congregational prayers have been conducted in the mosques built or repaired, and the numbers are growing every day. Alhamdulillah, your donations have provided people with the opportunity to pray in comfort and peace. May Allah SWT accept all the beautiful donations made and grant Barakah in this world and in the hereafter.
The cost of a mosque depends on the size. The smallest to medium-sized mosque with a congregational capacity of 130/150 people will need a donation of £12,000. This includes the construction of the mosque, an ablution area, and a toilet. Alhamdulillah, in 2023 we have constructed 20 mosques, and in 2024, 16 mosques are under construction in different parts of Bangladesh and East Africa. Our aim is to continue building more mosques and repairing small mosques for local villages so that the inhabitants can perform prayers in peace, comfort, and together.
Masjid Project Success Story Bangladesh
For many years, families in this rural village in Bangladesh had no proper place to pray. Worshippers gathered in a small temporary structure that could not accommodate the growing community. Through the Masjid Project, a new masjid was built, giving villagers a clean and dedicated space for daily prayers, Jumu’ah, and Islamic learning. Today, the masjid has become the heart of the community, bringing people together in worship and strengthening faith for generations.
Masjid Project Success Story Tanzania, East Africa
In a small village in rural Tanzania, Muslims previously prayed outdoors under trees due to the absence of a proper masjid. With the support of generous donors, a masjid was constructed through the Masjid Project. Now the community has a safe and peaceful place to perform their daily prayers, gather for Jumu’ah, and teach children the Qur’an. The masjid has become a centre of unity, knowledge, and spiritual growth for the entire village.
Please Note: A Mosque project can take up to 9/12 months to complete after the donation has been made. This is due to the restrictions of some locations and also taking into account the weather and suitability of building in certain period of the year. Additionally, a due diligence check must also be carried out.
