Qurbani Project In Bangladesh
Qurbani, and Udhiyya means sacrifice, a ritual slaughter of an animal which takes place during the month of Dhul Hijjah. Muslims around the globe will sacrifice an animal sheep, goat, cow or camel in accordance of the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). The month of Dhul Hijjah is a very blessed month which is the last month of the Islamic calendar and an event which took place whereby Prophet Ibrahim (AS) was instructed by Allah SWT to sacrifice his beloved son Prophet Ismail (AS), Prophet Ibrahim (AS) succeeded in his trial and Allah SWT made it a blessed ritual for the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad SAW with great rewards.
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was once asked by his Companions: O Prophet of Allah! What is this Qurbani? He replied, It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (as).(Hadith Ibn Majah)
It is a ritual sacrifice that is offered at the time of Eid-Al-Adha showing gratitude to Allah SWT and to share the meat with the poor and needy. This occasion - Qurbani is an occasion to rejoice for all but especially for the poor and needy as they will have an opportunity to have a meal with their families from the distribution of Qurbani meat.

When a donor requests GYTF to complete this obligation, you are in essence allowing G&Y on your behalf to share the joy of Eid-Al-Adha with the very vulnerable, poor and needy people of Bangladesh many of whom probably havent had the chance to devour meat the entire year. Because of your donation, an opportunity arises whereby the poor and needy can enjoy a meal with the family which we in the UK enjoy on a daily basis. G&Y has so far sacrificed over 3,800 Qurbani units since its inception for our donors and have distributed to over 22,000 families. Your donations have helped widows, orphans, elderly and those who are in need to have a more balanced diet. By helping G&Y to carry out your Qurbani, you are brining hope and joy to the lives of others on a huge scale.
